phonies...

i need to adress this question.....is holden really a phony for seing everyone else that way, or does Holden appear to be the phony but he really is not because he is really the only truely truthful one?

Holdens close buddies

his biggest friend and the most influental to the book is probably allie. he always is speaking very highly of his brother allie more then one time. he is dead, so as a result holden sees him as his past. this influeces Holden in the hole book. showing that Holden does not want to let go. but that begs the question.....how long should we look on the past?....and when is is time to move on?

Marriage

I just sat down
T enjoy life’s ride
I sat down on one of those leather couches
Right near the clock in the lobby
Right where I could see the time passing by

I love you
You love me
Only time will tell if its true

quote

"it's everything i hate living in new york and all. taxicabs and Madison avenue buses, with the driver yelling at you to get out at the rear door, and being introduced to phony guys that call the lunts angels, and going up and down the elevator when all you want to do is go outside" Holden finally realizes how phony everyone really is. and even though he has noticed it before he finally is sick of it all. and Holden is sick of everyone conforming and being a phony because everyone else is. the whole book Holden tries not to conform and he realizes why people are and notices almost everyone is phony in some way.
